Australia’s leading lubrication solutions provider, Lubrication Engineers Australia have officially launched their new product: the Viper Maxi MK II, an addition to the popular MK II range of Viper lubricators. Currently the largest wire rope lubricator available on the global market, this WRL is designed for ropes over 67mm (2.6”) in size and up to 165mm (6.5”).
“Building on the demand for the Viper MK II Wire Rope Lubricator, we have engineered the Viper Maxi MK II,” Geoff Manley, General Manager of Lubrication Engineers, said: “Our latest kit will service the offshore marine industry, particularly deepwater oil and gas operations”.
The Difference & Benefits of the new Viper Maxi MK II
The Maxi unit has two pump options; the standard pump services ropes up to 90mm and delivers a maximum of 4.5kg per minute lubricant flow. The second, Hi-Flow pump delivers up to 13kg per minute, making this the superior option for wire ropes up to 165mm. Like its smaller brother – the Viper MK II, the new Viper Maxi series is suitable for numerous applications, including ROV cables, vessel crane ropes, and underwater offshore wire ropes.
“The Maxi MK II collar is the heart of the Viper WRL system,” Manley said. “The Viper collar is constructed from high-strength aluminium alloy, precision machined to tight specifications, and completed with stainless steel hardware for maximum durability and corrosion protection in marine applications.”
With its single-pass wire rope lubrication, the Viper Maxi MK II ends the need for manual greasing. The high pressure and high flow grease pump enables faster and more efficient rope lubrication with speeds up to 1,000 meters per hour.
“I state with confidence that the Viper Maxi MK II is our most exciting product.” Manley said.
